His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday 13th September 2022, attendedthe inauguration ceremony of the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya, HisExcellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto which was held at the Moi International SportsCentre, Kasarani, Nairobi.His Excellency was accompanied by Hon. Sidie Tunis, Speaker of the ECOWAS, Hon.Mohamed Swaray, Minister of Information and Communications, Hon. Mamadi G.Kamara, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Isatu A.Bundu, High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya and Mr. Keketoma Sandy, PressSecretary and Presidential Spokesman.
The newly elected president in his inaugural speech, expressed his gratitude to hiscolleagues Heads of State including President Maada Bio who were all in attendance ofthe ceremony.On the same note, President Ruto commended Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for t h esuccessful stewardship of a transparent and credible election. President Ruto also praised the Supreme Court for itsindependent decision in fairly adjudicating over the election petitions thereby instituting faith in Kenya’s electoral and judicialinstitutions.President Ruto added “This is a momentous occasion for Kenya. Our politics and elections have never failed to be emotive,engaging and dramatic.
The most recent installment, however, showcased our most exemplary democratic performance ever,”he concluded.The Oath of Allegiance and of Due Execution of Office were administered by Hon. Anne Amadi, the ChiefRegistrar of the Judiciary and Hon. Chief Justice Martha Koome to both President William Ruto and Deputy President RigathiGachagua respectively.The ceremony also included the handing over of the Instrument of Power and Authority to the newly sworn- in President.INAUGRATION CEREMONY OF KENYA’S FIFTH PRESIDENT9
